The mower ran out of gas, the pool is only 1/4 full, my livingroom is still a mess, but I made this cute little custom ordered flower girl headband to match the bride's hairpiece. I am not as happy with the bling so I may take that off and make a cute little pink fabric button to put in its place.

Finding the perfect gift for a bride and groom is not always easy. Sure they have registered and sent out good wishes to the bride fairies of Bloomingdales, Sears, and JC Penney. But, I love to give gifts that not just anyone can dream up. I may have found it. In my scrap pile, I came across some soft cotton or linen fabric that Jessica gave to me. I cut the squares. Then, I ironed them. After that, I folded and ironed the crease, making sure to fold and iron again.
Next, I zigzag stitched to each petal the letter or number necessary. Now, my niece and new nephew will have the perfect gift to put on their first Christmas tree, or hang on the wall, or whatever they want. I also may start selling personalized flowers for other bride's bouquet on etsy. I just love it. These could also make wonderful SAVE THE DATE photo cards or momentos.

Now, my dilemma is which center. It has to be perfect. I do not know the wedding colors at this time so I need to stick with a cream or ivory. I prefer circles rather than ovals.
I also think it would be nice to paint or stitch the last name initial for the center piece in the flower. I am also thinking of attaching an ivory satin cord or ribbon to provide for easy hanging.
As well as the first Christmas tree, it could be used in any wedding décor. Several sister flowers could be made to go on sashes, belts, or ribbons to be worn or even placed on the cake.

Well, I have been trying to preblog. That is to blog the day before the blog is due. I shall forget about that and just blog in the evenings. Today, I woke up, got dressed, had breakfast, drove to town (a couple of yard sales), got gas, stopped at a neighbor's yard sale, headed over to shoot(photography) a local rodeo (which I was late for), and headed home to eat lunch around three. I went the first time to my neighbor's yard sale and bought a wagon (full size flexible flyer) for $5. At the same yard sale, I bought some leather material (real leather that you can sew on a regular machine). Coming back from the rodeo, I thought of all the leather and wondered if my flowers would work. I sat down and stitched a single flower to know if I should go get more. YES!!! So, off I went to get more. This also gave me more time to look over the yard sale. I found a couple of dresses and a shirt and a Christmas tree (if my son wanted it). I took pictures of the tree and went home. After my son saw the tree, he decided, yes, he did want the tree. So, back I went. This time, I loaded the tree. She seemed tire and overwhelmed by all the work before her. I set her down in a chair and began my magic. I did the manual lifting of items to this or that box helping her create the keep and thrift store piles. It didn't seem to take too much time as we were getting to know each other at the same time. I helped her load all the thrift store stuff in her van and headed home.
This is the leather flower that I just know would be a hit with a western/country bride or that country girl headband or even a hatband to go on a cowgirl hat.
Happy Yard Sales to all!

And they're off! Or on! Since I knew today would be filled with three doctor visits, I took my flower craft bag with me. Armed with a craft, we headed off. On our way to the doctor's office, we stopped at a yard sale. I found a shiny napkin which I quickly added to my flower crafts bag.
I worked on more and more. I am amazed at how wonderful they turn out every time I make one.
We stopped at several places looking for some feathers for birdcage veil that I have been asked to make. I cannot wait to get started.
Also came across this awesome material that will make the perfect shopping bag just like the one my dear friend, Sherry blogged about the other day.
Happy Crafting!

Editing again!
It is officially tomorrow according to the clock. After I sleep, my day will be filled with three doctor visits, a big yard sale in Piedmont, a sunflower field, and time with my hubby. I am doing my blog now.
I am so excited to have made my first cloth flower tonight. I am also glad that I did not sell any of my brooches. They can be placed in the middle to show me what the possibilities are. Below is a gold colored brooch just laying on the center.
For a blue touch, I laid the blue stone brooch in the middle.
EDIT 1 added ~ I made another flower that is a little smaller. I LOVE THEM!
Happy Blogging.
EDIT 2 ~ Instructions Requested.
1. Pick cloth and cut 5 exact sized squares. The size of the square will determine the flower size.
2. Fold twice along diagonals.
3. Sew a gathering stitch along the open edge being sure to leave plenty of thread on both ends.
(you will be using ends to tie the final knot)
4. Gather all five as close as you can (strong thread).
5. Tie both ends of thread into a tight knot. This is the most difficult step. The knot tries to loosen itself as I am tying it. The tighter the knot and gather the better your center will be.
6. Attach a brooch, earring, button, bead, or whatever to the center.
This is as far as I have gotten. I found this on pinterest. Yes, I am still running from pinterest and do not assume any responsibility for those who are caught in pinterest because of any comments made on my blog.
I made it. Once again, my son has helped me navigate the internet error messages. I could not log in today, because, let me see if I can explain it half way, my email provider and Google do not play well together. They pretend to be partners and great friends, but they overlap without exchanging info. Long story short. I had to log out completely. Then, I had to log in with the account that works for this site. My son says I have two Google accounts that creates NO harmony.
Anyway! Now that I am here, let me start out with my first ~ thirty one days thirty one blogs.
I ask myself, what do I want to accomplish with my blog? Discipline? Absolutely not! Show off my wonderful, magnatimous photographing ability? Nah! My simple life? Not sure a cluttered life would fall into simple. If you have been following my blog, you know that I am on a small adventure named OPERATION DECLUTTER! I would much rather sit and write about my hopes and aspirations to climb the clutter pile rather than actually doing the work.
Today is pay bills and work on office area. It is almost noon. The day is half over, and I feel like all I have done is broke into my blogger account.
I feel cluttered lately. My writing is indicative of that. I ramble from room to room without direction.
Declutter update: Budget: We have all the medical bills sorted out. In two years, they should all be paid. Body: So far, as of this morning, I have lost 36.5 pounds. This Saturday will make 35 weeks since I started. It may take another 35 weeks to get to my ideal weight, but I am on my way. House: I am slowly working on the junk by selling and giving it away. My house has some semblance of order now. It seems to be so slow as well. One item here, one item there. Then, I go to yard sales and thrift stores. I see something that I can resell and supplement the photography. My sister says I must make a deal. If I buy it to resell, it must be sold within 30 days or I have to give it away. I must deal with the clutter by throwing out and cutting the incoming!
Photography: I have not cleared out as much as I would like but I have been using more things. With the selling of one thing, I found buyers for a new hobby. In the last month, I have had two brides special order veils from me. I have two more orders and the creativity in my blood is starting to move. I am screaming NO NOT YET! I must get rid of some more before I take on another hobby. But it is helping supplement my love of photography.
Because I love photography, I shall try to include a picture as well every day.

From my downstairs bathroom
Ever since we re-modeled the downstairs bath, I love cleaning that area. So the bath stays a pretty clean most of the time.
